At 05:30 on Friday morning (Greece time) Stefanos Tsitsipas will claim his first appearance in the final of the Australian Open.
For the fourth time in his career he will play in a semi-final in Melbourne and this time he hopes that Karen Katsanov will not stand in his way.
It is Tsitsipas’ third consecutive semi-final appearance and the third time he will play against an opposing Russian tennis player (the previous two were Medvedev).
At the same time, this will be the sixth meeting between the Greek tennis player and Katsanov, who is ranked No. 20 in the world, but from Monday he will be at least No. 13.
