The Memorandum was signed by the President of E.ELEAA Mr. Nikolaos Papatsas and the President of K.S.EEK Mr. Tasos Kounoudis, in the presence of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Charalambos Petridis and the Ambassador of Greece to Cyprus Mr. Ioannis Papamelitou.
The aim of the Memorandum is to consolidate and strengthen the cooperation between the defense industries of Greece and Cyprus, both bilaterally and at the European and international level, since the companies of both countries already participate in the multinational Research and Development programs of new systems security and defense funded by the E.U.
In addition, through the strengthening and institutionalization of their cooperation, the defense industries of Greece and Cyprus will further develop their extroversion towards the European and international markets, utilizing their comparative advantages and commercial contacts.
The signing of the Memorandum between E.ELEAA and K.S.E.K. lays the foundations for the start of a new era of close cooperation between the two states, in the field of security and defense, a new era of joint efforts for the strengthening of the defense industries of the two states, the development of new systems and their commercial promotion in the international markets.
As the President of E.EL.EAA Mr. Nikolaos Papatsas pointed out in his speech, “with the Memorandum of Understanding that E.EL.EA.A. and K.S.E.K. are signing today here in Limassol, the two sides lay the foundations for a mutually beneficial relationship both for the defense industry of our states, as well as for Hellenism and the security of the citizens of Greece and Cyprus. Through this cooperation we can claim together new markets around the world, convince new customers for our products and services, mutually exploiting the advantages of each side, claim our interests together within the framework of our common European family and of the opportunities it gives us”.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the two-day BATTLEFIELD ReDEFiNED 2023 conference, which concluded with great success on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, in Limassol, Cyprus.
More than 180 delegates and many companies with the their exhibits from Greece, Cyprus and other European countries.
