The alleged shooter has been arrested, the sheriff of San Mateo County, near San Francisco, said on Twitter.

The alleged shooter, a 67-year-old resident of the community, was arrested about two hours after the shootings, sitting in a parked car. The attacker was identified as Zhao Chunli.

The gun believed to have been used in the incident was also found in his car.
Initially, the authorities reported that there were 4 dead and 3 seriously injured. A little later, American media reported that the dead are 6, with 4 of them being Chinese farm workers.
A motive for the shootings remains unknown, sheriff’s officials said in a statement.
Officers responded to the scene of a “multiple casualty” shooting, the sheriff’s office said.

Earlier in another US state, namely Iowa, two people were killed and a third was seriously injured by gunfire inside a non-governmental organization that helps young people in Des Moines.
Responding to a call to immediate action, law enforcement officers who responded to Starts Right Here, an NGO that works with the public education system to help troubled or at-risk youth, found three people with gunshot wounds, two of them who were “in a very serious condition”.
“These two people, two students, are dead (…). The third person, who works for the organization, is in serious condition,” Paul Parizek, spokesman for the police in Des Moines, explained to the press.
Based on eyewitness accounts, police stopped a car and detained “three potential suspects.”
The deaths follow Saturday night’s massacre in California that left 11 dead when an Asian septuagenarian attacked a dance hall amid Lunar New Year celebrations.
