During his speech, Alexis Tsipras spoke of a “criminal network” in the Maximos Palace headed by the prime minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Among other things, during its installation, it disclosed the contents of the folder it received by the president of ADAE, Christos Rammos, after his initial request for the connections.
As Mr. Tsipras said, the file given to him by the independent authority confirms that 10 persons were being monitored in total, among them, the current Minister of Labor and former Minister of Energy, Kostis Hatzidakis, the president of PASOK, Nikos Androulakis, the MEP, Giorgos Kyrtsos, the journalists, Tasos Telloglou and Thanasis Koukakis but also the head of GEETHA, Mr. Konstantinos Floros, the head of GES, Mr. Lalousis, the former national security advisor, Mr. Diakopoulos, the former and current head of the General Directorate of Armaments, Mr. Lagios and Alexopoulos.
“For six months, Kyriakos Mitsotakis has been lying that he allegedly did not know”, commented Alexis Tsipras. Saying that he repeats the lies both on television times and inside the parliament. Alexis Tsipras, defended the president of ADAE, Christos Rammos, saying that he is a supreme judge, who has a resume of honesty and did his duty as ordered by the country’s Constitution. He emphasized that in the country, there are laws and people are flexible. Addressing the government, the president of SYRIZA raised his voice, saying that they are treating him with vulgarity and it is a shame, as he said.
The entire speech of Mr. Tsipras:
“The prime minister and the government in the case of this diversion are irrevocably guilty. They have not only political, but also heavy personal and legal responsibilities”, said the president of SYRIZA-PS, arguing that “the stay in the government of the country of those who made even our national security a field of wiretapping and blackmail, is dangerous for democracy, the security of the country, the rights”.
The leader of the official opposition stressed that “after everything that has been revealed, with proof now, because we want Greece to be a European state of law, this government cannot stay in its position for a single moment, this prime minister cannot remain not a day in his place.”
For these reasons, he added, “we are submitting a motion of no confidence against the Mitsotakis government, as a first step in our journey to the people in defense of democracy, transparency and justice”. He noted that the Parliament will debate for three days, “Mr. Misotakis will be forced to come here and give explanations, to be accountable, to answer and the Parliament will be forced to decide: With Democracy or with diversion”. He emphasized that “whatever the answer is, I am sure that soon the final and correct answer to the question will be given by the Greek people”.
Gerapetritis for motion of censure: We thank you
The Minister of State George Gerapetritis he accepted the motion of censure and said, among other things, addressing Alexis Tsipras: We are grateful to you because we will have the opportunity to oppose.
The government is asking for the meeting to be held immediately, Mr. Gerapetritis also said, to be completed on Friday as the prime minister will leave immediately after for an official visit to Japan. As the President of the Parliament said, the meeting is interrupted until 6, when the procedure will begin.
See parts of Alexis Tsipras’ speech:
We submit a motion of no confidence in the defense of justice
The government cannot stand still
In critical moments, we must assume the responsibility that falls to us
I know very well that this is not just about one faction, this is about the constitution, the rules of the political game, it is about every democratic citizen, whether left, right or centrist
We have a historical responsibility
Were our generals suspicious of our national security?
Why should the Minister of Energy be monitored?
Why should our national security matters be monitored for national security reasons?
The EYP listened to the military of the Armed Forces, even the two leaders for two years
Which means the DA signed at least four orders since the attachments were 2 months old
He followed Mr. Hatzidakis for 8 months
The Greek people have an obligation to know the truth, in the face of the cover-up that was attempted with misgivings
And the response I received officially on the file was 6/6, for all attachments found
He officially requested that an audit be carried out by the Authority, if the Minister of Labor, Mr. Hatzidakis, the head of GEETHA, Mr. Floros, the head of GES, Mr. Lalousis, the former national security advisor, Mr. Diakopoulos and the Mr. Liakopoulos
This file contains the illegal parastatal projects set up by Mr. Mitsotakis
Questions will be resolved for those wondering what is contained in the file I received from ADAE
Shame on a judge who does what the constitution says. The Constitution was won with blood and we will defend it with blood
Mr. Gerapetritis, how do you treat this man with bullying?
He did not consider that there are judges and public officials who are doing their duty
Blinded by the power of power, by the supremacy of the media supporting the government, he believed he could go against the Constitution
He is the mastermind and mastermind of this parastate
He chose it because as the mastermind behind the parastatal, he knew there was evidence of the surveillance
Because he chose not to answer directly
When I asked him if he will resign if it turns out that Hatzidakis and Floros were being watched
He didn’t answer a question, he dissolved the meeting before its time so he wouldn’t answer, he preferred to humiliate himself instead of answering the question I asked him
In fact, in his interviews, he tries to act ignorant, just like on 08/10 in the Parliament
For six months, wherever Mr. Mitsotakis stands, he lies that he allegedly did not know, that allegedly no surveillance ever took place
In the beginning you talked about products of fiction, enlisted the defacement and character assassination
it proves the deviation from the democratic order, gang action, with omerta
The main scandal intersected with an even bigger scandal
When the journalist Koukakis accidentally discovered that he was being monitored, he was not shaken, but was quick to legislate that the independent Authority could not inform him after the end of his surveillance
With the signatures and knowledge of a prosecutor, who signed provisions for whomever was asked and for as long as she was asked
And for those who did not open the malicious message, there was the other way, the legal one
He knowingly set up an Orwellian crisis, with dozens of victims, among them many ministers, among them the president of PASOK, among them, Mr. Spirtzis, economic factors, journalists
It intercepts what you discuss, in your private moments
He managed to make available to this dirty network and the foreign, advanced systems
He put his nephew in charge of coordinating this network
From the first day, he took EYP to his office, placed his own person as the commander of EYP,
He organized this network from the first moment he took over the government
Officials of the armed forces, ministers and others were targeted by a criminal network, he said, based in Maximou and coordinated by the country’s prime minister
The procedure provided for the motion of no confidence
“Motion of no confidence” is the motion tabled by an opposition party in the Hellenic Parliament, with the aim of the House removing its confidence from the government or a member of it.
The regime governing the procedure is primarily described in article 84 of the Constitution and in more detail in article 142 of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament. According to Article 84, the motion of no confidence is tabled if it is signed by 1/6 of the total number of MPs (i.e. out of 60 MPs) and must clearly include the issues for which the MPs withdraw their confidence from the government as a whole or by any of its members.
MPs submit the proposal to the Speaker of the House during a public session of the House. In the event that the motion is signed, as mentioned above, by the minimum required number of deputies, then the Parliament suspends its work for two days, unless the government requests that the debate on the motion of no confidence be started immediately.
As far as the time limits are concerned, the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament point out that the debate in the Plenary is completed no later than midnight on the third day from its start with a roll-call vote. According to article 142 of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament, the debate on the motion of no confidence begins with the speech of at least two deputies from those who signed it. At the same time, until the end of the speech of the two MPs, the complete list of speakers who will be placed before the Plenary is drawn up.
In order for the proposal against the government as a whole or against a member to be accepted, it must be approved by an absolute majority of the total number of MPs (151 MPs). He points out that a motion of censure cannot be submitted again, if a period of six months has not elapsed since the rejection of a previous similar motion, unless it is signed by an absolute majority of the entire number of deputies.
