Peru: Members of Congress initiate a process to impeach President Dina Bolluarte


Members of his parliament Peru filed a motion for a resolution on Wednesday to impeach President Dina Bolluarte, according to documents obtained by the Reuters news agency.

The Latin American country remains mired in political crisis following the December 7 suspension, arrest and pretrial detention of Ms. Bolluarte’s predecessor, Pedro Castillo. Some fifty people have been killed in the ongoing protests and riots that have since broken out.
