According to the Geodynamic Institute, the epicenter of the tremor was located 7 km northwest of Mandamados and the focal depth was estimated at 5 km.

The Euro-Mediterranean Institute put the earthquake at 3.8 on the Richter scale.

The tremor was also felt on the coast of Turkey opposite Lesbos, specifically in Ayvali and Smyrna.
