War in Ukraine: Zelensky’s message was broadcast in Russian regions and in Crimea

Message from the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky was broadcast by television receivers in the Belgorod region of Russia, as well as in the region of Krasnodar, in the attached Crimea and Sevastopol. The event was broadcast by local channels on the Telegram messaging app. According to eyewitnesses, Zelensky’s speech appeared on television receivers in those regions at the moment when he was supposed to be transmitted broadcasts of Russian channels.

According to the videos, his speech was broadcast president who addressed his compatriots in the Ukrainian language without a Russian translation. The transmission signal was intermittently lost and then returned.

The adviser to the governor of Crimea responsible for information policy Oleg Kryuchkov attributed the broadcast of the Ukrainian president’s speech to interference in the transmission of the signal made with the support of the United States. “THEAmericans from the beginning of the special military operation gave the Ukrainian intelligence services access to all program codes of the most popular “radio and television operators”, through which TV channels broadcast on the internet. Cable TV providers usually get a signal from the internet. When things are bad on the front, Ukrainians cut the webcasts” Kryuchkov was quoted as saying by the RBC news agency. Belgorod authorities reported that there was tampering with a satellite signal without authorization.
